HAVANA INTERNATIONAL FAIR (FIHAV)
OCTOBER 27TH – OCTOBER 31ST
Prices starts at $2,153 including air from Tampa

DAY 1 – ARRIVING IN HAVANA

We have a 7:00 am early morning Southwest non-stop flight to Havana from Tampa and transfer with our guide/driver from the airport to our Hotel/Casa. Our guide will give you an orientation about the stay and the Havana International Fair (FIHAV) and take you on a walk through the local neighborhood.

Havana is Cuba's capital and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Founded on behalf of the King of Spain in 1519 it surrounds one of the largest and secure bays in the Americas. Havana was built from the outer parts of the Bay, a part of the city now called Old Havana.

The entrance to the bay is protected by the Morro Castle, where every night at nine o'clock in the evening a ceremony is performed with soldiers dressed in the style of King Carlos III firing cannons as part of the celebration.

DAY 2 - HAVANA COLONIAL

After breakfast at the hotel we go for a walk through Old Havana to learn firsthand about the historical importance and recent restorations of many of these glorious buildings, many dating back to Colonial times. We will also visit the four major squares in Havana: Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Catedral, Plaza de Armas and Plaza San Francisco. Enjoy a Lunch in the Dona Eutimia.

DAY 3 – CULTURES AND HISTORY

Today we make a visit to The Arte Corte Project which was created in 1999, created by stylist Gilberto Valladares Reina (Papito). He demonstrated how hairdressing is an activity that together with good intentions and a sense of brotherhood can contribute to the dignification of human beings in all its aspects. Also see the Gallery-Studio of the artist Roberto González; the bar, restaurant and cafeteria "El Figaro", in honor of the famous Italian opera composer Gioachino Rossini who also composed "The Barber of Seville".

Our next stop is the Centro Cultural Antiguos Almacenes de Deposito San Jose. This marvelously restored old dock warehouse is now a huge exhibition hall and home to hundreds of Cuban artists displaying their arts and crafts.

DAY 4 – THE HAVANA INTERNATIONAL FAIR (FIHAV)

FIHAV is a consolidated fair that has been held annually since 1983 and is the most important commercial trade fair in Cuba and one of the most reputable in Latin America.

This event brings together all sectors of the Cuban economy and is the most complete trade fair providing an ideal space for exhibitors and visitors to make new business contacts, learn about businesses with a local presence, identify new possible partners, exchange market and other knowledge as well as get updated on new technological developments. It is also an ideal platform to learn about the benefits Cuba offers international economic partners and foreign capital providers through the new Foreign Investment Law and the creation of the Mariel Special Development Zone.

The FIHAV Trade Fair is host to about 4,500 exhibitors from more than 60 countries.

Dinner this evening is at the Mercaderes Paladar.

DAY 5 – RETURNING HOME

After breakfast at the hotel/casa we have time to revisit the convention and to follow up with contacts made earlier during our stay. We leave the hotel in the afternoon for transfer to Havana airport and our return home with Southwest's 6:05 pm non-stop flight to Tampa.
